Improv

I first saw improvised comedy (‘improv’) in the form of Theatresports at the Belvoir Street Theatre in Sydney in late 1989.  It hooked me immediately.  Straight away I took classes in Sydney with the wonderful Lynn Pierse and later in Calgary with the legendary Keith Johnstone.  Over the next few years I performed with amazing people in Australia and in Calgary, Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Boston and Seattle.  In 2001 and 2004 I won the Cranston Cup (the NSW Theatresports championship).

Between 1990 and 2004 my company, Instant Theatre staged hundreds of improv shows for corporate and general public audiences in shiny theatres and dingy pubs in cities throughout Australia and in New Zealand.

Since moving to London in 2005 I have performed with Grand Theft Impro, the London Improvathon, Catch-23, Hoopla!, the Wilmington Players and many others.

In 2009 I produced and directed over 60 performances of my show Scenes from Communal Living in London and at the Edinburgh Fringe.  The show has also been staged in Sydney and Canberra.

Stand-up

I performed stand-up comedy in the lower echelons of the UK circuit for five years between 2006 and 2011.  I took shows to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2008 and 2009 and I've also performed in New York, Toronto and Sydney.
